Munich Day 9

Well, dear readers today we went to Wallberg Mountains and Tegernsee Lake. A wonderful experience of beautiful views, cows and boat trip.

Hartmut was in good form telling various stories and asking questions as he drove along.

After checking the boat times and cable car lift times he announced that if we are up for it it can go to the mountains and have a boat trip. This seemed excellent to us. And so dear readers the adventure begins.

As you can see the cable cars were very small so I don’t know if they would catch on in England.

So up we went dear readers higher and higher. I think Hartmut said it was about 1500 metres high. By this time I was cursing myself that I did not have a coat. The higher you go, dear readers, the colder it is!

The view was worth the wait, Sweeping mountains on one side, a beautiful lake on the other and then there were the cows. Ah the cows

And so to lunch dear readers but first sail around the lake where we saw the exclusive hotels and boy did they look exclusive,

Next was lunch which was at the place where the monks used to be. Here are Sue and Sammy waiting for Hartmut to get the car afterwards.

After Hartmut dropped us off I had a snooze to recover from my cold. I must admit I slept for a couple of hours while Sue and Sammi went for a walk around town. Finally, we had dinner at the Greek restaurant in Disesonhoffen and called it a night.

Munich Day 5

Well, dear readers, we are getting a little holiday weary, but have not had enough yet as work does not see an appealing prospect. Today

  • Sammy put the washing machine on
  • Father realised that 3 shirts were not enough for a 2 week holiday
  • Mother fell down a manhole,

Ok, that last sentence was added for dramatic effect and is incorrect. What did the family do on day 5

First we went to Marion platz by tube to see an old clock go bong.

What next we cried ‘off to the old town’ came the reply.

Before we visited the old town we saw the Devils stamp. Someone made a pack with the devil. Reneged on and the devil stamped his foot.

After wondering around for a little while we thought we would try some food and beer at the famous hofbrauhaus.

Then after buying some postcard the day was done.

Munich Day 3

Well dear readers Here we are day3. Today we went to Dachau. The name invokes for many horrors and nightmare glimpse of what the world could of become the world over if to disagreed with the patry line.

As soon as I see the name I think of a nazi concentration camp. I wonder what the people who live in Dachau think. They surely cannot think of their town like that.

For Joseph Platz its about an hour away by bus and train.

It was a a journey where i fell asleep. The buses and trains ran on time.

At the gate with the infamous saying ‘Work will make free’ Now an entrance to remembrance centre but remember to hundreds of thousands it was a start of a death sentence.

For lunch I tried non alcoholic HB weiss beer. Surprising nice and refreshing. I stuck with the traditional theme and hsd curry wurst. Then around the camp.

As we walked around it was obvious that the place was huge. However I just can’t image what 40,000 prisoners on this square would of looked like.

The memorial simple but true. NEVER AGAIN.

It can be seen that the living conditions were awful. How 40,000 lived with woeful sanitation go knows.

Almost like out of a film set here is watch tower. For fun officers threw prisioners caps into the no go zones and the prodioner would then have to get it. The guards in the tower would shoot them dead. Man’s capacity for evil is truly terrifying.

At the bottom of memorial site. I think we are all thankful that the day is nearly over.

Lastly Suee on the way home. In the end we did not go out for tea but had pizzas for dinner in the apartment. I’m glad we went went but it was a harrowing and draining day.

Munich Day 2

It was hot very hot dear readers and today we braved the underground in Munich and went to a palace of sorts.

  • . I bought a hat
  • Sammy announced she was going to gay pride
  • And Sue ate some sausage salad

The palace in question was called the Munich Residence. A rambling museum which was split into three parts. The first was where lots of gold silver trinkets were shown through the ages. The second was rooms where lots of important people lived and third a theatre of some sort.

But first dear reader we have to negotiate the underground. First the ticket machine dear reader. much easier when you select the English

Then the underground itself.

Munich -Day 1

So up bright and early having packed the night before. Sue and Sammy doing sensible things while i worried about drones and other things that could happen to the plane. Circles of influence as my old boss would say circles of influence.

So with the usual regrets and worries buzzing around my head like a bothersome wasp or bee off, we went to Heathrow airport. Traffic as light and everything seemed ok part from I keep thinking I have forgotten something.

We left ludicrously early considering the flight was not until 13.50. However by the time we checked in eaten something, got to the boarding gate I was glad we did.

So there we were on the plane. Well, well it was nice not have be fat shamed as the seat belt actually fitted on my tum and I was pleasantly surprised that seats were quite large.

I was able to sleep for most of the flight and soon all my prayers were answered as we came into land. If you asked me to between lufthansa and easy jet. It would have to be lufthansa any day of the week. I was not even fat shamed about my seat belt as it fitted around my ever expanding middle.

So we come to the landing. I don’t know if the landing was special, but a number of passengers clapped. After landing we found that we had to go to another airport to collect the baggage. We were the last ones to collect our suitcases. Never mind

Then we had the debacle of the traffic. German efficiency is not what it was you know. Anyway once at the apartment, more drama e could not get in! I paced, Sue told me not to Pace and SDam found the number. The apartment was large and spacious and we celebrated by going out and eating some dumplings. Although I did get the worlds worse chair.

Hole 1 – Baby Steps to Childhood

Hole 1 the first ten years. At the start, you are not sure what is going to happen but the round is full of promise. However, confidence drained, by a hook or a shank can change your outlook for ever. Are you an optimist or a pessimist? The way you address yourself in your early life will have a bearing on the rest of it. Just like how you face the round golf will have an affect on it.

Hole 2 School, College and relationships

Hole 2, from age of ten to the age of twenty. Boys learn about Girls. Girls learn about Boys. And what relationship path is taken, normally stems from these years,, just your ability to learn shapes your golf . Will you wear your heart on your sleeve or be quiet and reflective?

Hole 3. Tearing it up.

Hole 3. Age twenty to thirty. In the prime of life. Going out, making friends, Boyfriends / Girlfriends, career changes. Housing problems, Pregnancy tests. Lose friends. Make new friends. Stay out late, eat unhealthy food, think you will never get old. Be happy, be depressed.

Hole 4 – Time to think of settling down or not

Hole 4. Age thirty to forty. Try to advance at work, look to settle down. Maybe rebel at the notion of 2.4 kids, a house, a car, a wife (or same sex partner), a hamster, dog , cat and guinea pig. Run away and become a surf dude or dudeness. Whatever you do, your shot selection is more mature and the end result is more predictable. Well that’s the theory anyway.

Hole 5 Mid Life crisis

Hole 5. Age forty to fifty. Well now people are set in their ways. Wife, husband. Career is set on a path which could be going nowhere. Solution buy a car, have an affair. Try to have a second kid. Anyway divorce and redundancy can occur, so be aware

Hole 6 Hope your satisfied

Hole 6. Age fifty to sixty. Need a rest. Slower these days. I like comfortable shoes. Kids stay out to late. Needs a decent holiday at least twice a year. Worry about cancer. Can’t sleep. Wake up early.

Hole 7 Take it easy now

Hole 7. Age sixty to seventy. Time to retire. Let the children worry. Afternoon telly followed by a nap is wonderful. Drink fine wines, eat well, Need the toilet during the night Wake up early. Happy with own company and partners.

Hole 8 Tired but not far to go

Hole 8. Age eighty to ninety.. Life fits like glove.Can’t hear so well either now. Think of times gone by. Wake three times during the night for the toilet. Wake up earlier. Sleep lots God bless.
